District Court

The CCCMC District Court ADR Program provides pre-trial and day-of-trial mediation services for eligible small claims and landlord/tenant cases.

Civil cases that reached an agreement in mediation are half as likely (21%) to return to court for enforcement actions compared to cases that reached a verdict in court (46%). Cases may be referred from the court or litigants may self-refer for mediation services. Contact us to see if your small claim case is eligible for our program!

Small Claims

The court may refer cases to pre-trial mediation when one or both litigants do not have legal representation. Litigants may also self-refer for mediation to avoid representing themselves in open court trials. District Court cases settled through mediation are less likely to return to court for enforcement than those settled by court order.

Landlord / Tenant

Landlords and Tenants may choose mediation to settle housing disputes. Mediation can be used to create payment plans and/or support the eviction process when move-out plans are needed. Mediation can also support conversations around maintenance issues, noise complaints, or other rental issues.
